An inspiring conclusion – Final Consortium meeting in Pavia

On 10 and 11 September, the BIOCELLPHE consortium gathered in Pavia for its final meeting — at the picturesque and historic setting of Pavia, Italy. The backdrop of this meeting was more than just landmark architecture: it was a moment for the project team to reflect on achievements, share final results, chart forward-routes and celebrate the collective journey.

For everyone present – researchers, industry partners, stakeholders – it was both a “mission accomplished” milestone and a springboard for what comes next. Over two days of presentations and discussions, participants highlighted advances in cellular phenotyping, microfluidics, bio-analytics, and data integration, underscoring how multidisciplinary collaboration helped bridge fundamental science and applied innovation. The atmosphere was both celebratory and forward-looking, as teams reviewed completed deliverables and identified promising avenues for future research and technology transfer.

A big shout out to all the project partners, UVIGO, CSIC, UPM, INL, INSERM, INRAe, RUBY, ICSM and TEM for 4+ years of active collaboration and new research initiatives and follow-up projects that already emerged from BIOCELLPHE’s network, proving the consortium’s enduring impact.

The meeting also looked ahead, focusing on how BIOCELLPHE’s results and partnerships can continue to generate impact beyond the project’s lifetime. Participants emphasised the importance of maintaining the collaborative spirit that made the consortium so effective, exploring future initiatives and opportunities for joint work. With excellent teamwork, strong communication, and genuine trust among partners, the project set a high standard for European cooperation—ending not as a conclusion, but as a springboard for continued innovation and connection.
